Tucked among stands of towering cedar along the shores of Lake Simcoe, this is a historic Stanley Thompson design gem. The course offers two distinct golf experiences in one round. Tight fairways and postage stamp-size greens predominate on the front nine, while the back loop redeems slicers, providing them with wide-open fairways and large landing areas. The exception to the rule is Cedarhurst's prettiest hole, the 166-yard, par three 13th. Its small green is guarded on the front by a large pond and on either side by deep bunkers. Cottagers and retirees converge on the well tended layout throughout the summer. A clapboard clubhouse with casual dining room completes the course's cottage aesthetic.
