Open in 1967 and cut through rolling, heavily wooded countryside, Newcastle Golf Course is a well maintained layout in a serene country setting. The course challenges all skill levels. Fairways are generously wide but if one strays too close to the edges, it means flirting with the various species of mature trees. The rolling fairways provide plenty of opportunities for various shot making situations. A large percentage of fairway lies are either uphill, downhill or sidehill and scoring well depends on adhering to sound playing strategy. Newcastle offers a genuine country atmosphere in the natural rolling terrain of east Durham Region. Golfers will need their best game to match their handicap on this course! |
